Fuller Lake Skating Club members skated circles around the competition, trying to outlast each other.

The club’s annual skate-a-thon fundraiser, held over two days, featured powerskaters and figure skaters doing as many laps around the rink as possible in a half-hour time period.

Feb. 3 sessions at Fuller Lake Arena had the pre-power powerskaters on the ice first, followed by the juniors. Junior/intermediate figure skaters were grouped together Feb. 4, followed by the senior figure skaters. There was a later time slot for the precan/canskaters.

Tops in each category for number of laps recorded were: Pre-Power – Carter Pearson 43; Junior Power – Ryo Riva and Chase Clark 50; Senior Power – Angus Donovan 64.

Junior Figure Skating – Isla Fink 61; Intermediates – Heidi Simpson 58; Seniors – Brooklyn Puska and Lucy Street 90.

Canskate – Carter Pearson 80; Pre-can – Aubrey Inyang and Axel Emerson 42.

Club president Luisa Shillingford noted the exact amount raised won’t be known until after March 4 when the money is due to be handed in by the skaters.
