Sylvan ladies’ bulletin board stolen

Imagine losing a 4x8 bulletin board, but that’s what happened to the ladies at Sylvan United Church in Mill Bay.

Last Canada Day the ladies organized a Raspberry Tea and Quilt Show as a fundraiser and to that end placed the beautiful bulletin board at the intersection of Highway 1 and Mill Bay-Shawnigan Lake Road. It was there for a few days prior to the tea, and to their great surprise and amazement they found it missing on Sunday, July 1, Canada Day!

An intensive search, and queries didn’t give them a lead as to where the board went. Even the Ministry of Highways and RCMP could not help. Who needed this board so badly and took it? The ladies hope it was taken to make a shelter of some kind by a person in need, and that it wasn’t taken to vandalize it.

But if you happen to see a large bulletin board announcing a Raspberry Tea and Quilt Show last Canada Day, the ladies would love to hear from you and see it returned. No questions asked, but an invitation to their Christmas Tea on Dec. 1, 2-4 p.m.
