Ireland’s tirade against Barker baseless
I don’t understand Tom Ireland’s continued tirades against Martin Barker and others who supported amalgamation in the recent referendum vote. That fight is over and it will not come up on anyone’s radar for a long, long time. There are far more important issues facing our region now like the substance abuse crisis, homelessness, high taxes, and a stronger economic base to mention only a few.
I wonder just what Ireland’s hidden agenda is. Could it possibly be that he is the front man for someone else who may have a very vested interest in seeing that Martin Barker does not become mayor of Duncan?
I have been in politics long enough to know that there are those who take the high road, refrain from slanderous innuendo and name calling and stick to the issues facing the electorate. Martin Barker is that kind of man. I am afraid that Tom Ireland and whoever he is supporting are not. Voters beware!
