A story in the Jan. 11 Courier about a momma bear and a cub being put down in the Waynes Road area after accessing garbage drew responses on Facebook.
Not the bears’ fault at all.
Those with garbage available should be fined at least $ 1,000 for the first time.

Nobody calls Conservation because they know the bears will be killed.
Policies need to change. Education needs to be increased. Individuals not containing attractants need to be fined.
Killing bear cubs needs to stop. They can be rehabilitated. No food, no bears.
Bears are not the problem, humans are.
