February 16, 2024

We are sad to inform you that on February 16th 2024 Dilip slipped quietly away from this life into the next.

He leaves behind to mourn his loss his wife of 58 years, Eileen Bridget, son Daniel, grandson Ethan, daughter Abigail, partner Godspower, grandsons Rochon and Makalo, sisters Krishna Bhattacharyya and Jharna Biswas and their families and his furry friend, Rosie Mae.

Predeceased by parents Dr. Anil and Mrs. Pratima Bhattacharya and sister Jyotona.

Dilip was educated at his beloved St. George's College in the Himalayan mountains, after which he travelled to England to study architecture. He worked as an architect on three continents, and lived a very full life.

He was an amazing artist, but also loved tinkering with old Land Rovers, cooking, listening to music, yoga and meditation. He is Past Grand Master of Pride of Alberta No. 9 Masonic Lodge, worked with the Rotary Club and served on the boards of numerous community groups.

Dilip was plagued by many serious illnesses in later life, suffering intense pain much of the time. He died peacefully at home, as he wished.

A celebration of Dilip's life, followed by cremation, will take place at 2:00 pm Friday March 1st at H.W.Wallace, Duncan. All are welcome.
