PUBLIC NOTICE – LAND DISPOSITION AND INTENTION TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE SALTAIR COMMUNITY SOCIETY LEASE

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 286 of the Local Government Act, RSBC 2015 c 1, that the Cowichan Valley Regional District proposes to grant the lease of the building commonly known as the Saltair Community Centre (the “Saltair Community Centre”) located at 3850 South Oyster School Road, Ladysmith, British Columbia to the Saltair Community Society (the “Society”).

The Saltair Community Centre is situated on lands legally described as:

PID 003-737-748

Lot 1, District Lot 12, Oyster District, Plan 19495, except part in Plan 19732

The lease of the Saltair Community Centre to the Society will be for a term commencing January 1, 2024 and terminating December 31, 2043 (the “Term”). The rent payable by the Society for the Term will be $1.00 per year.

In accordance with Section 272 of the Local Government Act, RSBC 2015 c 1, the Cowichan Valley Regional District gives notice that the lease of the Saltair Community Centre for nominal rent for the Term is a form of assistance that the Cowichan Valley Regional District intends to provide the Society.
