The Crofton fire department responded to a car fire just after 3 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2.
The fire, located just off of Robert Street in the village, was quickly doused. The car was parked on the street at the time of the fire. A series of small explosions could be heard as the car burned.
Conditions are currently very dry, as the region is now under drought level 4, so any fire is a concern as it can spread quickly, though the vehicle was not in immediate contact with anything flammable.
