The Chemainus Valley Cultural Arts Society is ready to take the next step in its quest to build a Community Arts Centre in Chemainus.
The CVCAS is required to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study to establish the optimum scope and size to ensure the Community Arts Centre succeeds. A campaign was started last summer to raise pledges to pay for the study.
Pledges totalling more than $17,000 have already been made which is enough to begin Phase One of the three-part study. That part of the project has been underway for nearly a month.
Pledges have been received from close to home and far and wide, including Texas. Writers, artists, B&B operators, consultants, musicians and more have all provided support.
The remaining $10,000 needs to be raised to complete Phases Two and Three.
Loyal supporters are being asked to consider making a pledge. For anyone who’d like to learn more about the pledge campaign, you can visit www.rainforestarts.ca/cvcas-community-arts-centre/
There’s a form on the website to fill out or you can pick one up at Rainforest Arts on Willow Street in Chemainus.
No money will be collected until the entire $10,000 is raised. Questions or further information can be obtained via email at: artscentre@cvcas.com.
