Crews from the Chemainus and Crofton fire departments responded to a report of a structure fire in the 10000 block of Stuart Road in Saltair Thursday evening.

A caller reported a smell of smoke and haze in the residence.

“Crews arrived and checked the residence utilizing infrared technology and found no heat signatures or sources to the smoke emissions,” noted Martin Drakeley, Manager of Fire and Bylaw Services for the Municipality of North Cowichan.

After a thorough check, crews did not find any issues and returned to their halls.
