Major award winners at Chemainus Secondary announced

Students stand out for their various achievements and contributions to the school

Three graduates are among the major award winners for the 2021-22 school year at Chemainus Secondary School.

Class of 2022 valedictorian Sebastian Guzman Leal is the recipient of this year’s Principal’s Award from Lori Hryniuk.

Also from the grad class, Sandy Stubbington earned the Cedric Lonsdale Award for most improved student and the Nuts’a’maat Shqwaluwan award for all-around student went to Gary Sylvester.

Other award winners included: Luca Sherry (S.A. Bricker Trophy for effort); Hunter Belanger (William Frier School Spirit Award); Ray Schulties (Philips-Lloyd Trophy for Citizenship); and Dorian Settle (Staff Service Award).
