Making the cut of a dead pine at 3020 Henry Rd. in Chemainus is Steve McGeragle, a 2009 graduate of Chemainus Secondary School. He’s now a trained arbourist and took it down. The tree was between 80 and 100 feet high, McGeragle said. (Photo by Don Bodger)

There’s no fear of heights here, as Steve McGeragle cuts down a dead pine tree on Henry Road. This is the view from Juniper Road, as McGeragle did his work. He’s the son of Cathy and Frank McGeragle and grew up next door to the property where this tree was located. It’s probably upwards of 130 years old, Steve McGeragle estimated without actually checking the rings. (Photo by Don Bodger)
