It’s going to be a December to remember at the Osborne Bay Pub in Crofton.
The Cowichan Valley’s live music destination will be hopping throughout the month, with BerryMusicCo.Ltd. owner Patricia Berry bringing in one quality act after another every weekend.
It all gets going right off the bat on Saturday, Dec. 1 with Black Angus at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Black Angus will take you from Vancouver Island to Ireland and back again with traditional and contemporary Irish, acoustic roots, Americana, West Coast Celtic, blues and old-time music.
Gareth Hurwood provides the vocals, guitar, poetry, and passion. Alex MacCuaig is the driving force on bass and harmonies while Sarah Tradewell brings traditional fire and grace on fiddle and Tom Salter binds the package on drums with his focused drive and irresistible beat.
A week later, on Saturday, Dec. 8, Eagle Eyes is on the agenda. The Eagles tribute begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $25, available online at TicketLeap.com.

Eagle Eyes have been touring near and far since they were last at the Osborne Bay Pub in May. They take great care in recreating the legendary music of the Eagles.
The four members of Eagle Eyes from southern Vancouver Island have more than 120 years of combined experience as professional touring musicians honing their musical and vocal skills.
Andrew McCormack’s retro night takes place Friday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. There’s no cover charge.
McCormack has been a professional musician for 30 years and specializes in pop favorites from the 1950s to the ’80s. He’s a regular at pubs, markets and private functions around the Cowichan Valley.
Saturday, Dec 15 brings the Unfaithful Servants to the stage for an 8 p.m. show. Tickets are $15.
“The band - and Dylan Stone in particular - are amazing,” enthused Berry. “Dylan is an exceptional musician and a great person.”
The Unfaithful Servants bring an original and exciting approach to traditional Americana, folk, bluegrass and country music with explosive instrumentals, compelling story-telling and high powered vocals.
The band was only formed a year ago in the fall of 2017, but has garnered the attention of the music industry with an opening slot for Canadian folkie and Juno nominee Lisa Leblanc, and headlining slots at the Sooke River Bluegrass Festival, The Islands Folk Festival in Duncan and the Canada 150 celebrations in downtown Victoria.
The Servants are excited to announce the upcoming release of their debut album, currently being recorded at Shawnigan Lake Studios with legendary engineer Steve Smith whose credits include numerous platinum and gold albums, as well as two Grammy Award winners. The album will showcase almost all original material and due for release in early 2019, with a tour of Western Canada and the U.S. to follow.
American born mandolinist Jesse Cobb is a founding member of the critically acclaimed bluegrass group The Infamous String Dusters. Shortly after Cobb’s move to Vancouver Island, singer/songwriter Dylan Stone identified his depth as a musician and began a collaboration.
The collaboration grew to include Miriam Sonstenes on fiddle. She’s a founder of beloved Canadian roots trio The Sweet Lowdown and has studied under bluegrass fiddle legend Bobby Hicks.
The last show before Christmas on Friday, Dec. 21 features Jack & Jay at 8 p.m., with no cover.
Jack Gunderson & Jason Dunajski from the Eagle Eyes are Cowichan Valley based and have been singing and performing together for more than 23 years in multiple bands.
A special performance on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31 brings back the Ange Hehr Band, starting at 9 p.m.
The pub is offering a New Year’s Eve special of a three-course dinner for $35 per person and the show for $25.
