Dock Side Drive, one of the West Coast’s hottest swing and show bands, presents ‘A Swinging Sunday Afternoon’ at Pat’s House of Jazz in the Osborne Bay Pub in Crofton on Sunday, Sept. 30.

Led by keyboardist and vocalist Heather Burns, this dynamic band recreates the magic and the music of the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s.

Their repertoire includes well-known swing, blues, jazz and show tunes from the likes of Ray Charles, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, the Beatles and more, all delivered with witty repartee and impeccable harmonies.

Vocalists Cristopher Newstead, Angela Ireland and Bran Bitonti join Burns, along with Don Leppard on drums, Anita Bonkowski on bass, Dave Flello on trumpet and Paul Wainwright on sax.

The group recently performed at the Sid Williams Theatre in Courtenay, Butchart Gardens and the Symphony Splash in Victoria and the Sidney Summer Sounds Concert series.

The show is part of a regular Sunday jazz series presented by the Chemainus Valley Cultural Arts Society most Sundays from September to June from 2 p.m.

This band is a crowd favourite at the pub, located at 1534 Joan Ave. in Crofton, so reservations are recommended. Call 250-324-2245 or visit http://osbornebaypub.com.
