Country music provides the perfect mix for beer at Riot Brewing Co. in Chemainus Village Square Friday night.

Bob Johns and his sidemen, known as the Honky Tonk Boys, will be at Riot to entertain starting at 7 p.m.

Johns and his group last performed at Riot in February and it turned out to be an eventful evening, with the venue packed to capacity. That occasion was the release party for Johns’ latest CD.

“This time, it will be a celebration of ’50s rock, rockabilly and traditional country music, along with the added attraction of a glass or two of the famous Chemainus beer,” noted Johns.

There’s no cover charge for the evening’s entertainment. All that’s required of people is to show up and enjoy themselves.

Classic tunes will be played from such music giants as Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, the Everly Brothers, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens and many more.

The Honky Tonk Boys feature Johns on vocals and guitar, Bob Patterson on the bass guitar, Steve Avram with the lead guitar and Doug Treit playing the drums.
