Chemainus Classical Concerts is back.

“Launching a new season of concerts has never been more exciting,” noted Rykie Avenant, artistic co-director for the concert series.

“After the hiatus of 2020-2021, we are proceeding with cautious optimism, and planning to meet for small live concerts once more.”

The series return at St. Michael’s Church, 2858 Mill St. in Chemainus, on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. is being billed as Beauties and the Beast.

The performance features two top-notch Vancouver-based musicians, who hold Doctorate of Musical Arts degrees and are the recipients of numerous awards and honours between them. Domagoj Ivanovic (violin) was born in Zagreb, Croatia and Noel McRobbie (piano) hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Only 50 tickets are available at $30 each. Contact Eleanor Montour (250-748-8383) to book and prepay for tickets.

Vaccine passports are required and masks mandatory as per provincial health regulations.

The annual general meeting of the Chemainus Classical Concerts Society will take place directly following the second concert in the series on Nov. 14.
