“This event has been a popular spring tradition for more than 10 years and was so popular that we had to expand and celebrate it for the entire three days of the Easter long weekend,” said BC Forest Discovery Centre manager Chris Gale. “As our first event for 2024, we are excited to see our regular members and the families making many of our events their family traditions. We are looking forward to being open for the three days to celebrate Easter.”

This year’s event will be full steam ahead from March 30 to April 1 — no fooling. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for youth and seniors, $8 for children ages three to 12 while little ones under two get in free. All tickets are available for purchase at the door. Save On Foods will be supplying goodie bags of Easter treats which will be handed out to all children who complete the scavenger hunt. Gale is grateful to all their volunteers who make events like this one a success.

The BC Forest Discovery Centre roll out their train for many holidays throughout the year including Halloween and of course their ever popular Christmas Express. Other events planned for the year ahead include Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Canada’s Birthday, Truck Show, Kid’s Day and Labour Day. The not-for-profit museum relies on sponsorships, donations and memberships to continue its operations.

“Unlimited train rides, goodie bags for those on the scavenger hunt, and a great educational experience will await those attending the celebrations as well as the concession being open, are just some of the reasons for kids of all ages to come out to the three-day event,” said Gale.
