The newly-renovated and expanded Forbes Hall is a showpiece for the Thetis Island community and already proving to be a valuable commodity.

With COVID changing the originally intended schedule, a quiet open house was held in mid-June, according to Thetis Island Community Association member Ann Dickie.

After the long construction period, the hall is up and running again while small projects are completed inside the building. Being the quieter time of the year, it was a good time for reopening.

COVID immunization clinics were held at the hall during April and June, “so they were a great welcome back to the community,” noted Dickie.

“We have two summer events planned, the much-loved book and bake sale – date yet to be determined – and a farm team concert in late August,” she added.

The plan is for a grand opening to take place in September.
