The Rotary Club of Chemainus was recently honoured to have a Rotarian from Uganda attending its regular meeting as a guest.

Aminah Zawedde, a member of Rotary in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, made a stop in Chemainus to visit her sister after attending the Rotary International Annual Convention in Toronto in June. She’s an accomplished young woman with a PhD and CISA designations.

Zawedde is a lecturer in information technology in the School of Computing and IT at Makerere University in Kampala, a board member of the National Information Technology Authority of Uganda and a mother to three young children.

She’s an example of the 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide who take advantage of the opportunity to get together with other Rotarians to share ideas and fellowship wherever they happen to travel.
