The Chemainus Health Care Auxiliary has made a substantial contribution toward the purchase of a new mammogram machine at the Cowichan District Hospital.

The auxiliary presented a $25,000 cheque to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation in early March. Several auxiliary members were on hand for the presentation, led by president Donna McCasky.

There has been $500,000 raised towards the vital piece of equipment.

The Chemainus auxiliary has been assured the machine will be installed in the new hospital when it gets built.
