An Edie Gourmet

Popular singer Edie Daponte shines at the Osborne Bay Pub in Crofton

Edie Daponte has such a huge following the Osborne Bay Pub is always packed whenever she comes to Crofton.

The popular entertainer from Sidney performed with Karel Roessingh on keys and Joey Smith on bass for her program ‘From Paris with Love’ that filled the room with love and kept the Valentine’s Day spirit alive two weeks after the actual date.

For those who’ve seen Daponte many times, it’s always worth going to her shows again and again. For those who’ve never seen her and heard her fabulous singing voice, it’s a must. She performs regularly around the south Island each year.

Her concert of French love songs made famous by Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Charles Trenet, Yves Montand and more international hits sung in both French and English captivated the audience as part of the Chemainus Valley Cultural Arts Society’s Sunday Jazz.
