Why approve developments when water issues loom?

Changing weather patterns not temporary and will be more destructive every year

The lack of normal rainfall this summer is becoming quite concerning for me and many other people.

Unfortunately, according to environmental scientists, changing weather patterns are not temporary and are world-wide and more destructive every year.

I have to wonder then, with all this uncertainty re our water supply, why our local councils approved all the new houses and apartment buildings that have been built lately? It seems that our local governments have totally lost any common sense and are completely ignorant of our changing weather and water supply. I would like to remind our council members that their responsibility is to the people who currently live here and not to anyone who would like to relocate here.

I am not feeling very optimistic about how future weather patterns are going to of affect our water supply, but sometimes pessimism and reality are not that different.
