The climate change emergency and the sky-high cost of living need to be first and foremost on the agendas of all politicians right now.
Attacking the already precarious safety and mental health of queer and transgender people is a hate-filled side issue that can only be damaging to the Conservative party as a whole. There is no room for hate in Canada.
I urge Pierre Poilievre and all Conservative MPs to reject pressures from far-right factions and instead stand up for all Canadians, including all minorities. Most voting Canadians expect no less from our leaders.
