Fuller Lake Skating Club members welcomed the opportunity to get back into normal competitions again.

The 2022 Vancouver Island FunSkate competition was a friendly, less pressure-packed environment. Participating skaters showed the benefits of their continued practice and were ready to let loose, obtaining some strong results.

Lucy Street skated to first place in the Star 8 women’s free skate and also came second in the Star 7 women’s short program for Group 2.

Sophie Dawe was busy in three categories, earning third in Artistic Gold, fifth in the Star 8 women’s free skate and eighth in the Star 7 women’s short program for Group 2.

Daisy McNamara claimed third in the Star 4 girls 13 and over category.

Isabel Anderson finished seventh and Leah Brown eighth in the Star 5 girls 13 and over division.

Ella Donovan competed in the Star 1 boys and girls combined while Alex Jensen and Tea Searle were in the Star 2 boys and girls combined event. All three earned silver.

The Fuller Lake club then went into its spring skating concert, as covered in the Courier last week, followed by another event in Parksville.
