The Stars were shining in the Small Block Brewing Cup.

The Stars won the championship of the eight-team men’s rec hockey tournament at Fuller Lake Arena with a 6-3 win over the Bandits in the final.

The Bandits earned the right to play for the title with a victory against the Spurs in the semifinals. The Stars won the other semifinal over the Outlaws.

Ice Hogs, Chiefs, Cougars and Bears were the other teams in the tournament, played over three days.

Rob King of the Ice Hogs was the tournament organizer. Everything went well, with the teams enjoying a good weekend of competition.

Players also soaked up some sunshine outside before going inside to battle.

Outlaws and Stars are from the Mill Bay league. The rest were all Cowichan Valley teams.

The ice has since been removed from Fuller Lake Arena for the season.
