Fuller Lake Skating Club members put their own spin on the StarSkate Final Competition in Kelowna and turned out some outstanding results.

“Kelowna was great,” noted coach Shannon McKinlay. “Lucy Street, Sophie Dawe and Jazmin Wheeler got invited to the provincial seminar due to the results at competitions this season. That was the highlight.”

Street placed second in Star 4, Dawe was 10th in Star 5 and Wheeler claimed 15th place in Star 10 and 16th in Star 9. Dawe also entered Bronze Interpretive where she came seventh and Wheeler rounded out a busy event with a second in Silver Interpretive.

The provincial seminar invites for the girls as a result of their placings will give them the opportunity to increase their skill set with other skaters around the province and receive further instruction from high level coaches.

In other results, Isabel Anderson, Street and Brooklyn Puska all earned gold for Introductory Interpretive, while Aaliyah Ward was eighth in Bronze Interpretive.

In Star 4, Julia Hussey and Anderson were both fifth and Puska finished eighth.

Star 3 competition resulted in silver status for Amanda Nagy and bronze for Alexandra Fernau.

Star 2 silver went to Hannah Wilson and Olivia Stuart, and bronze to Daisy Troise and Daphne Anderson.

The club is considering a trip to Hawaii for a competition in March of 2019 and will probably need to take a reporter along with them.
