South Island Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Chemainus athletes travelled to Comox last weekend to represent the academy and community at the West Coast Combat Championship.

“We are super proud of all of our students, their hard work and dedication really shows when they step up to competition and are really making a name for themselves in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community,” noted Jordan Green, one of the owners of South Island Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Chemainus.

Competitors who asserted themselves well included: Wyatt Robertson, Daemon Lewis, Lincoln Robertson, Abby Robertson, Kira Lewis and Tyler Belanger.

Kyle Chong, one of the Chemainus coaches, spent the day on the mats to support the crew and the club.

Classes in Chemainus run Mondays and Fridays for all ages starting at three years old at the former St. Joseph’s School gymnasium, the home of South Island Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Chemainus.
