If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
A previous annual general meeting of the Chemainus & District Baseball Association on Sept. 21 did not go well so it’s back to the drawing board. Perhaps everyone was still mesmerized from the federal election the previous day, but it’s unlikely.
“Only six people turned up,” said longtime president Larry Hopwo.
Without enough people to fill executive roles, the possibility remains of the association amalgamating with another organization or disbanding.
For now, “we’re going to hang tough again,” said Hopwo.
That means another try at an annual general meeting and a strong attendance is imperative for plans to be put in place for the 2022 season.
The second try for the AGM will be on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Chemainus Ball Park clubhouse.
