North Cowichan councillors need to show and tell, not ask

A 3.2 per cent tax increase in the budget totally irresponsible

It is disappointing in the extreme to learn that North Cowichan council seems to have drunk the Kool-Aid and is very near to approving an utterly irresponsible 3.2 per cent increase in budget for the coming year.

It is reported that some councillors ‘asked’ if the increase could not be lower.

Do they not understand that it is their responsibility to ‘tell’ administration what resources will be available, for example an increase of no more than one per cent?
