Caswell Park Recreational Trail shouldn’t be blocked

Gate with combination lock should have been installed for use by locals

There is a recreational trail which originates at Caswell Park, crosses the Forestry road and continues up to Henry Road with access to the golf course.

The trail has been in continuous use for over 15 years. Recently, the trail has been barricaded off, no doubt due to lobbying by residents who do not want transients taking shortcuts through the subdivision.

In B.C. we have “Right to Roam”, with RTR Recreational Trails cannot be blocked even when crossing private property. The authority that put up the barricade should have known that and installed a gate with a combination lock so that the trail could still be used by locals as in the past.
