May 7, 1936 - February 19, 2021
It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our father and friend Kenneth John Paisley, who passed away peacefully on Feb 19, 2021 with son, Cory and Tracy by his side.
Ken was born in Nipawin Saskatchewan and was the youngest and the last surviving of 11 brothers and sisters.
He was predeceased by his second wife, Diane Isobel Paisley on June 1, 2015. Dad leaves behind 6 children, 18 grandchildren, and his best friend and first love Brenda Paisley-Parker, many family members, friends and his beloved dog, Lady.
Dad enjoyed a successful military career and had the opportunity to live in many different communities from coast to coast. After his retirement from the RCAF, he went on to work as the Head Rink Rat (Ice Maker) at Fuller Lake Arena until he retired. He loved his second career as he was always close to his love of hockey.
Dad coached hockey and served on the executive at Fuller Lake Minor Hockey for many years. He could often be seen wearing his skates while driving the Zamboni; this saved time between practices. To this day, if you listen closely, you can still hear his booming voice echoing through the rafters of Fuller Lake Arena " if it ain't broke or bleeding, get up."
Dad loved to fish, set his crab traps and enjoy this beautiful place we all call home.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Monica, Rob D. and all of the Community Nursing and Home Support workers who made Dads last years at home as comfortable as possible. It was Dad's wish to stay at home with his puppy Lady, for as long as possible, and he was able to do just that, less 2 days.
A special thank you to his friends, Suzanne, Lorraine, Laura, Carol, Judy, Mike and Donna, Pat and Joe Davis and all of his neighbours on Mathew Place in Mill Bay for watching out and checking on him for the past few years. He spoke fondly of you all.
We bid farewell to Dad as he sets out on one last fishing trip with his lines and lures trailing in his wake.
Farewell Pop, we love you and until we meet again,
Fish On!
