December 17, 2017

Aug 30, 1929 - Dec 17, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mom Irmgard (Schulz) Krzykowski on Dec 17, 2017.

Irma was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Aug 30, 1929, where she grew up surviving the Second World War and where she met the love of her life Erich A Krzykowski. They married Nov 11, 1951. After their first daughter was born, they immigrated to Canada along with Irma's parents, siblings and their families. They settled in Calgary, Alberta where they put down roots and a life for themselves. In 1976, Irma and Erich with 2 daughter's now found their way to Chemainus on Vancouver Island where they lived happily for many years. Erich predeceased Irma after a long fight with Cancer in 1999.

Irma was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Chemainus, where she had many friends. She lived out the rest of her life feeding her hummingbirds and other feathered friends in her favorite place on earth. She loved family and was a constant support to her children and grandchildren.

We could have not had a better Mom, Oma, sister-in-law, aunt, great grandmother!! She was a kind, loving woman who was loved by many.

She is survived by her daughters Ursel (Bailey) Krzykowski, Vera (Read), her grandchildren Jessica (Matt) Lysne, Lisa (Rod) Tatton, Dana Bailey. Great grandkids Alexus, Lucas, Sterling, sister in law - Charlotte Schulz, nieces - Gisela Kleinschmidt, Anneliese Schulz, and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany still.

We can't forget her beloved cats Munchkin and Mango. She is now back with the love of her life in peace. She will be greatly missed. We were very blessed to have this beautiful lady in our lives.

A service will be held at St. Josephs Parish, in Chemainus on May 12, 2018 at 1 pm.  Please join us in celebrating our mom's life.  St. Joseph Church, 9735 Elm Street, Chemainus, BC V0R 1K0.

Internment to follow at St Michael's Cemetery, and a reception and celebration of life at the Chemainus Best Western.
