RNC Signal Corp served 1943 - 1945 in Malta, Italy, Yugoslavia, Burma and Hong Kong.
After discharge Gordon joined the Liverpool Fire Department. In 1950 he married the love of his life, Alma Thompson. His wife of 67 years. They immigrated to Canada in July, 1956, then located to St. Albert, Alberta in 1959.
Gordon was predeceased by his wife Alma. Survived by son Steve, daughters Patricia and Colleen, grandchildren Aysa, Aiden, Isaac and Connor. Brother Roy, sister Iris and all his family in England.
Services will be held at Chemainus United Church on Saturday, June 29 at 1 pm. A Last Post service and refreshments will be held at the Chemainus Legion at 2:30 pm.
No flowers by request. Donations to the Chemainus United Church towards a commemorative bench fund for Gord and Alma would be very much appreciated.
