It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, and friend, Eric Randall Veistrup, on Saturday, August 19, 2023.
Eric was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on October 2, 1962. The family moved to Chemainus, BC in 1969. As he grew up he often said he lived in the best place in the world.
Eric wanted to live life to the fullest and had many interests and adventures.
His work as a driller involved travelling to many remote places in the world such as Borneo, Papua New Guinea, Peru and Ghana. From his travels, Eric had many stories and his sense of humour was keen and honest no matter what tale came along.
Eric had a natural gift with tools and often helped neighbours with their projects, tackling them with energy and enthusiasm.
Eric will be sorely missed by family and friends as well as his beloved dog, Ollie.
The family has advised that will be no funeral services.
