Canadian Navigable Waters Act

B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy hereby gives notice that a submission has been added to the Navigable Waters Registry pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act for public comment described herein and its site and plans.

Pursuant to paragraph 10(1)(b) of the said Act, B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy has deposited with the Minister of Transport, on the on-line Common Project Registry (http://cps.canada.ca/) and under registry number 10638, a description of the following work:

• The project will restore the right bank of the Chemainus River immediately downstream of the Highway 1 Bridge adjacent to and near Parcel PID 004-023-838.

• The bank restoration will include the construction of seven (7) bend way weirs, installation of large woody debris for fish habitat and riparian planting.

• Work is scheduled between August 1, 2024 and September 15, 2024, with contractor mobilization up to a week prior to and after the start and end dates.

Note that comments will be considered only if they are received not later than 30 days after the publication of this notice.
