Motorcycle accident closes Osborne Bay Road

Tuesday afternoon incident results in critical injuries

Osborne Bay Road was closed for a few hours late Tuesday afternoon following a single motorcycle accident.

“The driver sustained injuries and was airlifted to Victoria General Hospital in critical but stable condition,” reported North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP Const. Amron Christensen.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. near the intersection with Herd Road. Numerous police and emergency vehicles were on the scene.

Drivers were forced to take long detours in both directions with Osborne Bay Road blocked.
