UPDATE: 75-year-old Walter Nelson Hiscock of Cowichan found

RCMP worked closely with his family and Cowichan SAR in the Riverbottom area

UPDATE: North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP report that Walter Nelson Hiscock was located Thursday morning, and thank the public for their assistance.

North Cowichan\Duncan RCMP are looking for help from the public in finding a missing elderly Duncan man.

According to Const. Pam Bolton, “75-year-old Walter Nelson Hiscock was last seen by family on Sept. 3, but suspected to have wandered away from his home in the morning on Sept. 4.”

Hiscock is described as a white man, with green eyes, and is balding, with grey hair. He’s about five feet, seven inches tall (170 cm), and weighs about 165 pounds (75 kg).

“The RCMP have been working closely with Walter’s family and friends in an attempt to locate him,” Bolton said. “Cowichan Search and Rescue have been deployed and actively searching the Riverbottom Road area near Walter’s home.
