Slate of six incumbents and one newbie take school board seats in Cowichan Valley

The seven successful candidates ran as a slate.

The results are in for the school board election for District 79, Cowichan Valley.

There were eight candidates running for seven spots, and six encumbents.

All of the encumbents were re-elected: Rob Hutchins (7,677), Elizabeth Croft (7,314), Candace Spilsbury (7,290), Barb de Groot (7,064), Randy Doman (6,508), and Joe Thorne (6,394).

Joining them on the board is Johanne Kemmler (6,114), with John McDonald the lone man out (4,314).

The seven elected school trustees ran as a slate of candidates with a “students first” platform.
