The Kerry Park U11 C1 Islanders earned bronze at the Cowichan Recreational Christmas Tournament held over the break at Fuller Lake.
The Isles began the event with a 3-2 loss to tourney finalists, Cowichan Valley C2. Callum Ronningen and Soren Grant both scored for Kerry Park.
Up next was a date with Campbell River C1 and Kerry park skated away with a 4-4 tie. Goals came from August Holloway-Dean, Lincoln Savage, Owen Butlin and Emmett Bourassa.
Kerry Park's third round robin game was a 4-3 victory over Oceanside C2. Holloway-Dean scored twice for the Isles and singles came from Tayt Clarke and Butlin.
The U11 C1 team's record of 1-1-1 advanced them to the bronze medal game where they met Sooke with a medal on the line.
Butlin and Bourassa each scored twice and Savage and Maxwell both netted goals for a 6-2 victory.
The U11 C1 team are August Holloway-Dean, Austin Maybury, Benjamin Turpel, Lincoln Savage, Nickolas Holmes, Colton Maxey, Dane Picray, Lincoln Thompson, Callum Ronningen, Soren Grant, Owen Butlin, Tayt Clarke, Emmett Heron, and Remi Volz. The team's head coach is Aaron Lamb and his assistants are Jon Savage and Stu Ronningen.
