It’s an Easter celebration like no other at the Malahat SkyWalk this year.

There will be magic in the air, adventure at every corner, and memories waiting to be made, according to the venue.

The SkyWalk’s Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt kicks off as soon as you arrive on April 18-21.

Start your hunt at the ticket window (or scanning hut) and begin your quest.

The eggs are hidden all around, waiting for curious eyes to find them.

Spot them all and earn a little prize for your efforts.

It’s also time for bubbles; but not just any bubbles.

Think giant, floating masterpieces that will have you chasing them all around the Tower Plaza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, Saturday through Monday. Watch in awe as they take shape and float up into the air, just waiting to be popped.

As well, let your imagination run wild with face painting to turn little faces into their favourite Easter characters from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, Saturday through Monday.

Bunnies, chicks, eggs; you name it, and face painting is perfect for a photo op with the whole crew.

He said he expects that within the next few weeks, customers will begin to see some real changes at the grocery store as improvements are completed.

“I want to ensure [people] that we are committed to making this store a place where you can rely on for quality products, great service and a clean, welcoming environment,” Singh said.

David van Deventer, president of the Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce, will host one of the chamber’s “Ask the Expert” sessions on April 24  in which he will discuss what it takes for businesses to connect with their community in today’s fast-moving media landscape.

Van Deventer, who is also the publisher of the Cowichan Valley Citizen, will share how local media is evolving while staying true to its roots in trust and community connection.

He’ll offer his thoughts on how businesses can use various marketing tools and targeted messaging to reach the right audience without losing that essential local touch.

“If you’re looking to better understand the power of community-based media and how to build credibility through trusted platforms, this is one conversation you won’t want to miss,” the chamber said.

The session, which begins at noon at the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre, is free for chamber members and their guests.

Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.

The Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce is standing with the Greater Victoria Chamber, Tourism Industry Association of BC, and fellow business organizations in calling for immediate investment in five new major vessels for BC Ferries.

The British Columbia Ferries commissioner has recently approved the purchase of four replacement vessels for the system's major routes, one fewer than B.C. Ferries had requested.

The new ferries are meant to add capacity and resiliency on BC Ferries’ busiest routes to meet the needs of the province’s growing population, tourism industry, supply chains, and local economies.

But BC Ferries said procuring just four vessels instead of five risks more waiting and less sailing for ferry customers.

“Our economy, tourism sector, and daily life all rely on a ferry system that can meet growing demand,” said the Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce.

“With aging vessels, increasing delays, and record-high ridership, the time to act is now. This investment will boost capacity, reduce service disruptions, and support long-term economic growth across the Island and coastal communities like ours.”
