In case you found yourself out on the town in costume, or busy with trick-or-treaters on Halloween, Longevity John is giving music lovers a second chance to see Ontario native Nicholas Campbell on Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Campbell has been described as the real deal as he serves up everything from slick hot-rod rockabilly to the smooth croons of honky tonk. Tickets are $25.

Hard to really let your hair down for Halloween when it falls on a Thursday, so Long John is keeping those spine-tingling vibes going with a lineup of talent so good, it's scary. Don't stash your costume just yet, as chairs will be moved to the side for the dress-up dance party.
On Nov. 2, creep down to the Duncan Showroom for 7:30 p.m. to be a part of the Halloweekend Spooktacular with the sounds of the Helletones, Lip Forest and more. Tickets are $20.

On Nov. 3, at 3 p.m., feel like you got the world on a string with String Fever. This acoustic string ensemble from Nanaimo brings their vocal harmonies for a suggested donation of $20.
Swing back around the showroom again for 7:30 p.m. to experience Métis Settler artist Kaeley Jade who is known for blending the sounds of folk, pop, and indie rock. An award-winning singer/songwriter and actor that hails from Edmonton, Alta. she has received radio play across the globe and has been featured in several film and television productions including Warrior Up! and Hockey Night in Canada. Jade will be also accompanied by Gabriel Gagnon on guitar and vocals. Tickets are $20.

On Nov. 4 get yourself on a new frequency with Two Doc and a Nurse — a special presentation and explorative workshop on 432 Hz tuning. This special evening will cover science, history and world cultures while answering questions like: does frequency matter?, and why are some musicians now adopting this ancient tuning standard?
Whether you are a musician, DJ, enthusiast or sound healer, you will benefit from this quest to get to the bottom of the 432 vs. 440 Hz > controversy. Kreuger, an interdisciplinary producer, lives on Salt Spring Island and currently teaches music production, DJ and live sound. He will facilitate. Tickets for this special event are $40.

On Nov. 5, tune in to the Eugene and Billy show at 5:30 p.m. with hosts Eugene Smith and Bill Levity as this dynamic duo provide music and banter, along with interviews and more music from their invited guests. Admission is by donation to be a part of the Showroom’s live studio audience. The boys do it all over again, same stage and time on Nov. 19.
Life is not a dress rehearsal, so bring your talents to the stage on Nov. 5. The Showroom’s ‘Dress Rehearsal Tuesday’, also known as their weekly open-mic night, gets underway at 7:30 p.m. There will be more open-mic nights scheduled on Nov. 12, and 19.

On Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m., originally from the prairies of Saskatchewan and fresh off the Woodstove Festival in Cumberland, Alissa Arnason who now resides in Nelson offers up a performance of country inspired folk songs. A donation of $25 is suggested.

On Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. rock out with the lead singer of Gabriola Island's own Rock on Road Band Nathan Sobko who brings audiences the genres of folk, rock, and blues. Sobko is currently in the process of finishing up the band's first album, as well as a solo album. Tickets for this night out are $20.

On Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m., shape up your evening with Songwriters in the Round featuring Brian Hazelbower and Beverly McKeen. As the evening progresses their set list goes out the door, and the focus turns to audience interaction. A donation of $20 is suggested.

On Nov. 9 let the Showroom set the tone with The Dextones. Founded in Nanaimo in June 2023, the band consists of Dexter Komen on guitar and talk box, Pierre Komen on bass, flute, and vocals, Nathan McKay on Keytar, flute and vocals and will featuring Adam Robertson on drums. Attendees will enjoy a myriad of covers in the genres of pop and dance, funk, reggae, blues, plus a healthy dose of classic rock, as they work on getting originals into the mix. Tickets are $20.

On Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m., enjoy 50 shades of blues with blues men David Vest and Terry Robb. Multi-award winning musician Vest has been singing the blues since 1957. Robb and Vest, who recorded an LP at the Duncan Showroom last spring, will be using this opportunity as their release concert. Tickets are $25.

On Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m., come check out the musical stylings of Alberta musician John Wort Hannam who is currently on his Over The Mountains B.C. tour.
Hannam, who released his most recent album Long Haul in 2021 has a few accolades tucked under his guitar strap including a Juno nomination, a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Album of the Year, a CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award, a Kerrville Texas New Folk win, not to mention numerous Western Canadian Music Award and Canadian Folk Music Award nominations. Tickets are $25.

Not to harp on, but on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. fans of the country folk genre won't want to miss folk harpist Keri Lynn Zwicker, who was born and raised in Edmonton. She'll be supported on the Showroom stage with the help of the Harp Rouge trio consisting of Tami Cooper on flute and vocals, and Nathan McCavana on bodhran and vocals. Together this trio will keep audience members engaged as they move through fiery Latin instrumentals, ethereal Irish ballads, rocking jigs and reels and “harpified” folk songs. Tickets for this experience are $25.

The wait for the music of Tom Waits is over as The Beautiful Maladies return to the Showroom on Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Fans of this legend won't want to miss this night out as they take fans of Waits on a marvellous musical journey. Tickets are $30.

On Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m., let your senses feel a positive charge with the band Infinite Atom who were a huge hit at the 40th Annual Islands Folk Festival. This dance group that blends psychedelia with pop, reggae, funk, and disco, all while creating dance music with live instruments and empowering lyrics will be recording a live EP inside the Showroom. Be a part of the action and audience for just $20.

On Nov 20. at 7 p.m., come check out the Victoria-based acoustic quartet Steluta, whose name translates to 'little star' in Romanian. This talented troupe will live up to their name with a constellation of musical styles, from Romany songs to lively Greek and Eastern European folk dances, interspersed with a bit of Irish. They will be recording some of their new tunes in the Showroom. Be a part of the action and audience for just $25.

On Nov. 22, Longevity John is taking the show on the road, or at least to City Square for the downtown Christmas Light Up which will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. This free event will have something for everyone, from live music to dancers, a visit from the big guy in red, and even chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

On Nov. 23, at 7:30 p.m., shimmy down to the Showroom for 'Original Gangsta - The Bellydance Show'. Get hip-notized with some of B.C.'s best bellydancers showcasing Kristine Adams. Don't miss this evening of divine dance presented by Saidi SistersStudio and Magpie Collective. Tickets are $25 advance, or $30 at the door.

On Nov. 24, get lost in the art of storytelling at 2 p.m. as Island Storytellers present 'It Worked... or Almost Did!' These storytellers gather in various groups up and down the island as they hone their craft of telling tales. These groups include the Victoria Storytellers Guild, Nanaimo’s ‘The Around Town Tellers’ and the Mid-Island Storytellers who are based out of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. There will be two sets of stories lasting 45 minutes with a short break in between. A donation of $15 to $20 is suggested.

On Nov. 30, at 7:30 p.m., set the mood to cap off your month with Brandon Isaak and the Mood Swings. Issak was one of this year's Juno nominees duking it out in the category of Best Blues Album of the Year. Tickets are $25.
