The Cowichan Writers Group has launched a book just in time for Christmas.
This collection of Christmas stories titled The 12 Tales of Christmas was launched in Duncan in mid-November and is available for purchase at Volume One Books in downtown Duncan or on Amazon.
It will also be available at two upcoming craft fairs in Cowichan at the Girl Guide Hall on Dec. 15 and Glenora Farm also on Dec. 15.
The book is made up of fictional stories, memoirs and poetry by nine Cowichan writers, said a press release for the publication.
"An eclectic mix of Christmas stories, this little anthology will entertain you with its thoughtful melange of Yuletide themes," said the release. "From the whimsical to the nostalgic, these 12 tales should evoke memories of this very special time of year. They surprise, they sadden, they encourage. They reflect all that is Christmas.
It is perfect for a hostess gift or stocking stuffer this holiday season."
The Cowichan Writers Group has been in meeting in the Duncan library for more than 12 years. They meet the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. It is an open group and local writers are welcome to join.
