It’s going to be hot this week and members of the Cowichan Neighbourhood House Association executive want the public to know the site on Willow Street will be made available as a cooling centre.

“We will be planning to be open for any heat waves through the rest of the summer (above 30C) and will be planning a warming centre come winter time,” noted Emily Holmes, CNHA vice president.

“We’ll have a sign out front,” added CNHA president Kathy Asp.

During those extreme climate events, the centre will be open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. for anyone who’d like to come in and cool off.
