Henry Road and the Trans Canada Highway is like every other intersection with traffic lights where car crashes can happen at any time.

A motor vehicle accident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. last Wednesday at the intersection, with the Chemainus Fire Department, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP and BC Ambulance Services attendants all responding to the call.

“Crews arrived on scene and stabilized vehicles and the scene,” Martin Drakeley, manager of fire and bylaw services for the Municipality of North Cowichan, noted of the Chemainus Fire Department members.

“BCAS attended to the occupants that were able to self-extricate. Fire crews cleared the scene and left the scene in RCMP control.”

The injuries to vehicle occupants were not believed to be serious.

But it’s a constant reminder to motorists at intersections there’s a lot going on, with drivers potentially running lights or making unsafe turns.
