The Board of Education for the Cowichan Valley School District has released the following statement on the ongoing pandemic:

“Our ongoing thoughts and support go out to our students, community, school district and families as we continue to navigate this uncharted time during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Board of Education is committed to doing whatever it can to foster a safe environment, both within our schools and in the larger community. As a board we are thoughtfully working through the new provincial health and safety protocols that continue to ensure our schools have the highest levels of safety for students and staff. Collectively, we want to recognize and thank everyone for adhering to the protocols already in place and for keeping our schools and community safe.

“We recognize the ongoing stress that the pandemic is causing, but know that our collective sacrifices are keeping us and others safe, are helping keep our children connected in their schools, and businesses around the community open. It is important that we not lose sight of the results of our action. The board wants to commend each and every one of you for your resilience and ask that you take the time to thank each other for the heroic efforts we are collectively undertaking at this time. These collective daily actions give us hope that our community will continue to combat this pandemic together.

“Let us continue to commit to holding the line and strengthening our resolve.”
