North Cowichan Mayor Rob Douglas is the featured guest at the Chemainus Residents Association annual general meeting, taking place Thursday, Nov. 24 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Chemainus 55+ Activity Centre on Willow Street.

Members and residents are welcomed. There will be time at 6:15 p.m. to register and mingle.

“We look forward to hearing Mayor Douglas’ perspectives on the key issues facing the municipality, and how he intends to guide council through what could be challenging times,” said Bernie Jones, CRA chair.

There will be an opportunity for those in attendance to ask Mayor Douglas questions.

The business of the AGM will be conducted first, including reports from the existing board on activities in 2021-22, and the election of a new board for 2022-23. Nominations to the board can be made from the floor by CRA members.

“We encourage people to join the CRA and to consider becoming board members,” Jones said.

The CRA monitors Municipality of North Cowichan council meetings, keeps its ear to the ground for issues of interest or concern to residents of Chemainus and holds all-candidates meetings for municipal, provincial and federal elections..
