It’s Election Day in North Cowichan: Here’s everything you need to know

The next reign of local leaders are expected to be named Saturday night, as the North Cowichan 2022 municipal election gets underway.

There are three people in the running to replace the retiring Al Siebring as mayor – Rob Douglas, John Koury and Rosalie Sawrie. Incumbents Kate Marsh, Christopher Justice, Debra Toporowski and Tek Manhas are running again against 11 others for the six councillor positions.

Polls are open in Chemainus and Crofton from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

After 8 p.m. local time, election officials will begin counting and tallying the ballots.
