An initial call of a motorhome fire Saturday night in Chemainus turned out to be much more.

When Chemainus Fire Department crews attended in the 9000 block of Echo Heights, they had to spring into action to get the situation under control quickly.

“On arrival crews found a fully involved motorhome that was spreading to adjacent homes,” noted Martin Drakeley, manager of fire and bylaw services for the Municipality of North Cowichan.

“Fast response by crews limited the spread to exterior siding and soffit damage only.”

Investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
