The bumpy ride along Crofton Road is a lot smoother.

No more roller coaster rises and dips that have proved precarious for motorists for many years.

The improvement project from Pinson’s Corner at Chemainus Road to Chaplin Street is nearing completion and on schedule, according to Windley Contracting Ltd. of Nanaimo.

The project will be done by the end of the month. Most of the major work is done and there is just some clean-up and minor touch-ups remaining.

Paving the entire route resulted in some longer delays in the last couple of weeks. Construction waits for motorists are expected to be minimal until completion.
