Chemainus has a new identity – temporarily, at least.

During filming for The Baker’s Son, a Hallmark movie due to be released later in the spring, Chemainus is known as Windward, Washington.

Street banners have gone up in the section of Willow Street between Victoria Street and Mill Street. There’s also a Windward Realty.

The Willow Street Cafe has become McBride’s, the name better known for its historic service station in town.

American flags are flying at the entrance to the Western Forest Products mill to provide a backdrop for the movie that continues to film in Chemainus until the end of the week.
