It’s been a busy summer to date at the Chemainus Visitor Centre.

Staff and volunteers have been recording the number of visitors and buses that stop in and visit Chemainus and the Chemainus & District Chamber of Commerce created graphs for the months of May, June and July to reflect those statistics.

The graphs indicate the number of buses and visitors recorded for each day of the week within a given month. The numbers represented in each graph are recorded during operating Visitor Centre hours.

Statistics gathered from data entered by Visitor Centre staff through Destination BC in May show Friday, May 11 had the most visitors, 556. Buses also reached a peak that day, with eight in town.

Ironically, the least number of visitors in May occurred just two days earlier on Wednesday, May 9 with 56.

In June, Mondays consistently had the most visitors and Fridays the least. Monday’s visitors ranged from 615-431 while Friday’s visitors went from a high of 296 to a low of 183.

The number of buses in town reached a peak of 14 in June on Monday, the 18th.

For July, a whopping 691 people visited on Wednesday, the 25th.
